I am still breaking this mat in. It comes with a coating placed during manufacturing to protect it but it takes a while for it to wear off. It makes it slippery when my hands are sweaty so I may purchase a hand towel so I don't slip. It's very heavy and it's know for it's durability. The bag is really nice and can hold more than just the mat. It was a good deal to get the mat, bag and block for this price. I'm pleased overall....
