Love this mat. Went to the beach for vacation and this bamboo mat provided a firm solid floor platform to practice my yoga. Did not worry at all about my feet and hands sinking into the sand in the various postures. If you are careful you can minimize the amount of sand particles that comes onto the surface of the mat. Next time will use a blanket that will help provide a border around the Zuura mat to help keep sand from getting on the mat. The mat works well on grass for providing a nice flat floor. Because it is made of bamboo slits, it helps in easy rollup after you are done with your practice. It has a decent floor grip such that it also stays in place if you use this indoors. Would not recommend using this during a hot yoga practice class unless you have a yoga towel to place over it to help absorb moisture produced form excessive sweating. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase of the Zuura Outdoor Mat....
