I'm a small business owner and for the past five years I have run ballet camps for girls in my garage.... the only problem was the floor. Cement is really not fun to stretch on, as it makes your muscles cold, fighting against the whole purpose of warming up, and jumping is absolutely out of the question!
I wanted to find some cheap portable dance flooring that I could use for my camps, but everything I found was like $300 for nine square feet! As I had a 12'x16' space, it just wasn't going to work for me.
Then, I found this floor. It works perfectly for what I need it for - I just turned it "upside down" so the more foamy part was the top of the floor, instead of the more treadmill type surface, and laid them all out on top of that hard cement! It doesn't work quite as well for more serious dancing - my friends & I were reviewing some of our company choreography on it and sometimes our feet would pull the corners up, or we'd suddenly shift the whole big mat over - but for what I needed it for, it was great. No more aching muscles, no more dangerous jumps - even my little dancers could tell the difference! And the total only came to about $160... including shipping.
So, if there's anybody else out there who needs some dance flooring but doesn't want to spend a lot of money on it- this fits the bill perfectly....

They slip around! They do as you would expect. Anything involving lying on the ground and for push-ups etc...these are perfect. However, moves such as jumping side to side or any sort of lateral movement these mats are not the best. For one, they slide quite a bit. If you jump up and down they are just fine. But if you are shifting your weight around they will move with you. I've almost slipped because of this. Also, if you are standing upright with your feet spread apart (over multiple tiles), they can pull apart from one another. I bought these for use during the Insanity workout series. Because of the price, I don't regret the purchase. However, a standard yoga mat that doesn't shift would probably be more appropriate....

I like this product a lot. It is an inexpensive way to get some gym-type padding on my rec room floor. My only complaint is the smell - when you are down on the mat the smell can be a bit overpowering. That said, I actually ordered a second set to enlarge my exercise area, so overall the price/usefulness outweighs the smell issue!...
