This is my first yoga mat purchase, and I actually use it for the abs portion of a spin-and-abs class, but it has worked very well. Because I had been using the thicker gym mats before I bought this 1/4-inch thick one, the lack of padding took a little getting used to (this is the only reason I don't give it five stars). However, it also offered much greater stability and in my mind that was worth the trade-off. This mat has none of the odor that many people complain about with other, phthalate-containing products. I am 5'10" so it is not quite long enough for me to stretch out on completely, but since I keep shoes on in this class that is fine. Convenient, easy to clean, practical and for a good price....
