It provides some cushioning so it's not a total failure, but my hands slip right off this baby. My form is terrible enough as is without having to constantly put my hands on the floor underneath the mat to keep from slipping....

You get what you pay for. This mat is way too small and flimsy, in my opinion. Go with the more expensive mats....

I am just getting into yoga, so i didn't need a super nice mat. This one is a good starter choice if your not sure whether or not to invest money in a top of the line one....
