My daughter has been taking gymnastics lessons for six years and wanted a mat for her birthday. The mat is good quality and is long enough for her to do a small tumbling run. It has velcro so you can attach it to other mats, or ours is just turned under and sticks to the carpet so the mat doesn't slide....

It's bigger and heavier than expected, so my 12 year daughter has a little difficulty to set it up by herself. However, it's a tradeoff for durability and stability (=safety). My daughter enjoys practicing everyday. She loves it, so I put 5 star on it....

I ordered these mats so that my daughter and son could practice gymnastics at home. In addition, I train people in martial arts (BJJ) from my home. These mats are well made and absorb the shock well. So you know... they are firm not "cushy". I recommend them for anyone training in grappling arts (you may want to cover the seams with mat tape) or any type of tumbling....
