Fabric becomes slip-resistant when damp

Incorporates COCONA natural technology

Infused with natural coconut carbon for enhanced drying properties and odor management

Plus what? With COCONA natural technology, the eQua Plus Mat Towel puts an entirely new spin on traditional multi-purpose towels. COCONA fabrics are woven with natural fibers extracted from recycled coconut shells. I own 4 of these towels. I do 4-5 doubles a week and strive to lug up as little clutter to the studio as possible. This towel rolls up into approximately half of the space of other yoga towels. It is also lightweight. I have a Manduka Black Mat Pro and this towel works well with this mat. It has the best traction to any yoga towel I have tried--until it is totally wet! Then my feel slip on it (bad news for triangle), but it still does not slip on the mat. This thin material becomes completely saturated in a 1.5 hr Bikram yoga class, but fortunately I am usually able to get through the standing series before it has lost all of its traction. When it is saturated, it feels like I am lying on a wet paper towel, so some days I bring my other towels for comfort instead.

When buying any performance product there is usually a compromise between form and function. This towel is good for packability (I can fit 2 in my manduka bag) and is non skid as long as it is not saturated. The price is excessive, but if you want to fit all of your stuff in the manduka yoga bag, then this is the towel for you....

It's just not absorbent enough. Of all my mat towels, this is the only one I DON'T take to Bikram. It feels very much like a thin t-shirt on top of my mat, and seems to absorb as much. All my other towels get really wet, but don't leave me lying in a giant icky pool of sweat. Besides this towel, I have (and use) Yogitoes, Manduka eQua, Manduka eQua Hot Towel, and Yogarat. All of these perform much, much better than the eQua Plus. The Yogarat has great absorbency and is non-bunching, I just wish it was as wide as the Manduka towels. It barely covers my mat widthwise. The Manduka Hot Towel is very absorbent, but doesn't lay flat and tends to bunch. It's nice and wide, but interestingly, it keeps shrinking lengthwise so it no longer covers the length of my Manduka mat (and it is always hung to dry). Yogitoes is great for lying flat, but is barely absorbent enough.

On a positive note, the eQua Plus does make a really nice, compact beach towel!...
