I've been rotating a few towels for the past few months in including this one for Bikram yoga (90 minutes of 105F+ hot yoga).

I really like this towel. Very high quality. Thick and heavy. Very absorbent even right out of the box without washing. Great for people who sweat excessively like me. It feels much like a normal microfiber towel except that it is 3 times as dense and tightly knitted. It sucks up water instantly keeping me very dry as I roll around on it. My feet sweat so I find it always sticky and it's heavy enough to help keep it from moving on my mat. There's also plenty of dry spots to pat down after class. Although I think it may be excessively thick and more difficult to manage. Plus the color bleeds in the wash forcing me to wash it separately. You might find this towel too thick and soft especially if your mat is thick and soft. I use the fairly hard rubber Jade Fusion 68-by-5/16-inch Yoga Mat.

I'd give this towel 5 stars if it were 25% lighter and if it was either made in the USA or cheaper. $55 is a fair price if it was made in the US, but it's made in China.

I prefer Yogitoes Skidless Towel, Teal for Bikram Yoga only a slightly bit more because it is lightweight. Approximately 1/3 the thickness of this Manduka Hot Towel. It is the lightest towel that is capable of absorbing all my sweat, although just barely. And of course it sticks well to my feet and the mat so it rarely moves an inch. I also like how the nubs keeps the towel from having constant contact with the mat so my mat gets less wet. The color on mine did bleed a bit at first, but not much after a dozen or so uses. Although synthetic, I like how the weave of the Yogitoes gives it a cotton feel unlike the fake plushness of microfiber towels. Made in Korea.

I also have the much thinner Manduka Standard eQua Towel. It feels completely different from the Hot eQua towel. It is a very fine and thin microfiber that feels more like suede than microfiber. But this towel is way to thin for me and Bikram. There is a definite slurping sound when I lay down on it. Also, because it's very lightweight, it sticks to my feet and bunches up on my mat during the standing poses. The price isn't even that great considering it's also made in China....

I agree with the previous reviewer that this towel is certainly thick and plush, but I disagree that it is "too thick". It is absolutely perfect for me. I've rotated between Yogitoes, Equa, and Kulea, and this towel knocks the socks off the others. It instantly absorbs sweat and remains sticky. It feels like a dream when laying on it...almost like velvet! I use the Manduka Black Mat XL, and I don't care that my towel is shorter than the mat. It simply rocks. I can't wait until it is made in the XL large size. It is so durable that it is definitely worth the extra bucks....

Yes, this is a good product. It does grip well to my mat and soaks up a ton of sweat in hot yoga classes. (I am a "heavy sweater".)

Unfortunately, when the towel is totally soaked my feet do slip - kind of like stepping on a mossy rock in a shallow pond.

My solution is to put my old Yogitoes mat on top of the Manduka towel and that combination works well to keep from slipping.

This towel should work well for most people but it's not enough for those of us who sweat buckets.
