I wasn't sure what to expect, but I took a chance and ordered this mat directly from the Mandala website. I am so happy I did because this mat was exactly what I've been looking for. I do my yoga practice at home, and I've been frustrated by the standard long, narrow yoga mats because I can't keep myself on them. I find the sensation of the hardwood floor/carpet on my outstretched arms or legs to be distracting. I'd tried the "wide" mats (still not wide enough) and putting two mats together side-by-side (they just kept parting in the middle), but those solutions weren't cutting it. This round mat is absolutely awesome. It really does feel like you're sitting on your own little island which makes for a more peaceful yoga experience for me. I'm 5'6" and the 6 foot diameter is perfect to allow me to stretch my arms out side to side or above me. I find the quality and thickness of the mat to be excellent, and when I ordered it from the website, they shipped some wonderful lavender mat cleaner spray with it which was just icing on the cake. As the mat is large, it probably isn't practical to carry it to yoga classes; however, if you practice at home, it's easy to roll up and stick in a corner or under the bed. I can't recommend this mat enough for anyone unhappy with the standard mats....

Great for Universal Yoga practice. It has a good size and you do not need to have 2 mats to spin around.

I got this extra large mat to help absorb the bounce while I work out. An old pre-war building, the floors shook and creeked. This helped so much. The mat makes me feel like on my own island and guides my workout, so I'm not all over the place. Love this mat, would buy this mat again....
