P90X Plyometrics Performance Mat: Slip Resistant, Extra Thick & Soft,

Non-sticky grip, yet slip resistant even when wet from perspiration

Top and bottom surfaces can both be used, depending on your workout needs

Extra cushion to support the spine, hipbones, knees, and elbows

Superior construction and materials to stand the test of time

Large dimensions (26" x 72" x 1/4" thick) to ensure maximum landing contact

The perfect landing pad

When it comes to the success of your Plyometrics workout and the health of your knees, ankles, hips, and feet, just any old mat won't do. Ordinary mats may be fine for some workouts, but for a high-impact workout like P90X® Plyometrics, you definitely want a comfortable, shock-absorbing mat of the highest quality.

Extra thick and soft

Designed for performance, comfort, safety, and longevity, the Black Mat provides the shock-absorbing surface needed during a jump-intensive training program like the one in P90X. Thicker and denser than other mats, this mat stays put on both hard and soft surfaces to provide a soft and secure landing.

If you want to get the EXACT same mat for $20 less, buy the Manduka 71 black mat. [...] The "P90X" mat shown in the picture even has the Manduka symbol on it in the corner....

I questioned my own sanity when I decided to pay a hundred bucks for a 2x6 exercise mat. I did it anyway because I have bone spurs that really bother my ankle without proper floor padding. I'm really glad I did. This mat is great for the abuse it takes. It does not slip, even when my tile floor is damp and the mat sits on that. The mat is firm, yet it gives just the right amount in impact exercises, etc. Also, I roll up the mat every evening after my workout and it still doesn't have a tendancy to try and curl up. When I unroll it the next day, it stays unrolled. The only reason this mat doesn't get five out of five stars is because it is still a hundred bucks for a 2x6 exercise mat....

First, this is the Manduka BlackMatPro 71-inch. That's what the label said when it came in the mail. It is not a plyometrics mat but a yoga mat used for plyometrics. So if you are going to buy this mat, save yourself $20 because they are selling the same one on amazon for less. Second, when you use it for yoga, this thing is slippery! I will try to hold a pose and my foot has slipped to the point where I could hurt myself not to mention it is annoying. I have to wear socks to prevent slipping. It takes just a little perspiration on your hands and feet. It doesn't take much. I've read that the mat will break in but I've had mine for a few weeks and it is still slick. I even did the recommended scrubbing with sea salt that Manduka suggests on their website but that didn't work. I found one person who said you have to buy a yogitoes towel. That's an additional $50. At 100 bucks, this thing should be better. Finally, it does take some of the absorption during plyometrics but not all because there are exercises that unless your floor is covered with these things, the mat doesn't help because you are jumping all over the place. That said, it does help for the exercises you can do on it....
