I'm giving this mat a 4 out of 5 because it is on the thin side and I prefer a bit of a thicker, heavier mat. That said, however, the mat does stay clean and does not carry any odors even after tons of Bikram yoga. I'm pleased with it and would highly recommend it. If you prefer, however, a thicker mat, you may want to either add another towel to lay on, or skip it and find one that is heavier....
