I just started doing hot yoga and tried out yogitoes and didn't like them. They moved everytime I moved. I read a couple reviews of these and tried em out with my manduka mat (which tends to be slippery) and they are fantastic (I have the blue and the purple). They don't move and absorb the sweat. I would highly recommend this for anyone doing hot yoga. They are also easy to care for, just throw in the wash and lay out to dry. It should be noted, the color is much lighter and brighter than the deep rich dark eggplant purple color shown....

I bought this mat to take with me to India. As promised, it folds up pretty small and is fine in that regard. It accumulates dirt like crazy (evidently it's washable but i haven't been able to do that yet).
Beware though, it is not the dark, earthy eggplant color my screen shows - it's actually an obnoxious my little pony lavender color (which, because it's light, shows the aforementioned dirt). If I had more time before my trip, I would have returned it for another color....

The one thing I couldn't see to find out before ordering this item was its weight. Now that I have one in my possession, it weighs: 1 pound, 6.75 ounces; or, 644 grams.
I'm not quite sure how to use it. I would understand if it were rubberized on both sides, because then it wouldn't slide on the floor, and you wouldn't slide on it. But it seems like the microfiber side slides even on top of carpet if you put that side down. If you put the microfiber side up on top of carpet, it's not too bad, but the microfiber side isn't the best to prevent sliding of your feet and hands.
I guess this must be more useful for the sweaty types of yoga....
