I've had other yoga mat bags in the past that are a while gym bag plus yoga mat carrier. I found though that I didn't need to have the extra bulk. This gives just enough room for the bag, keys and little incidentals. The whole point of yoga is to feel light...why bring a hefty bag with you??...

i have an earth element hugger mugger mat and it does not fit my existed mat bag. Beacuse of its non-slicky surface and its dimensions. this bag is big enough to put inside mat and it's really cool material and i love the color. I' m glad to have it....
