it's a great price for a yoga mat. It was softer than I had expected. the material feels a lot like the nova-foam mattress topper or like my tempurpedic bed. because of that, I'm not sure that it's significantly better than a mat of typical thickness. Also, I emailed the company with my color choices, but all 4 of my mats came in black anyway. Didn't even get a response to my email. They make no guarantees about color, so not much i could do. (I bet all they ever have is black!) Still, a good price!...

If these mats are "seconds" you'd never know it. I ordered two...one for me and one for my daughter...and both of them are great. Why spend a lot of money for a mat that will be used on the floor? These mats are truly a great bargain....

I am not a person that enjoys spending money on "seconds." I know, they can be great bargains. Call me OCD if you must about quality. But, in my search for an exercise mat, I was not about to spend a small fortune either for a piece of "rubber." I took the chance for the advertised amount. The quality is great. The color is pleasing and inspiring. I hate exercising...visually the color should help keep me motivated. And the mat's thickness is enough to make being on the floor bearable!

At first glance I was very excited the product "looks" really pretty, very much like caribbean blue running water. Once the chemical smell hit my nose I was horrified. I would never have taken this into a yoga studio much less used it in my home. My yoga teacher gave me a tip on getting rid of the horrid stench. I simply tossed it in my regular washer (not recommended in instructions)on gentle cycle with a very small amount of Tide detergent. Once finished I rolled it in a towel to dry it and then let it air dry for a a couple of days. It was good to go and now I love it. Every time I use it I feel like I am floating on water going somewhere thats not stressful. I definetly recommend the product but wash it first....

i use this mat for yoga, martial arts, and many other exersizes. it is very soft/comfortable plus it has a cool look. it seems to be very durable and doesn't slip even when i am sweating bullets. i believe it is definatly worth the money i spent. this is the best mat i have ever had!!!...

I was scared to buy this because of the reviews about the chemical odor and how strong it was. For me it wasn't that bad. I actually used a little Febreze on it and I was good to go though, I will probably air it out more until its completely gone because it did irk me a bit. I love the color pattern and how comfy it is compared to the other mat I had. It definitely stands up to someone getting really sweaty during a workout. Its great and I love it!...

When I bought this mat a couple years ago, I was looking for a longer mat. I'd find my nose or toes hanging off one end or the other of my standard-size mat (I'm 5'10"). The lack of PVC and the somewhat Earth-friendly material led me to this mat rather than other longer mats.

Early-on, the mat was both too sticky and too slippery. The slightest moisture made it slippery, and it is sticky when dry. Two or three times I stubbed my big toe in a big, painful way going from down dog to lunge. I do have a certain amount of excess girth that gets in the way of some maneuvers but I never stubbed my toe while using my first PVC mat. My leader thinks the mat is too sticky. The slipperiness was gone after a month or two.

I practiced twice a week for much of the past two years but practice only sporadically now. There are some cracks but no tears or gouges. I would not buy this mat again....

This yoga towel is the best for Ashtanga and hot yoga. I use it with the Manduka 85" mat & the combination is the best. If you don't break a sweat, then don't bother. If you do, then you cannot live without this towel. Be sure to wash it, the dark towels bleed like crazy. This towel had little nubs on the bottom that make it stick to your mat. It's great. I don't think it's really that pricey considering I use it 3 times a week or more....

I sweat a lot during even a moderate paced Vinyasa set, and this is a much better solution than keeping a hand towel nearby and interrupting yourself every few minutes to attempt to dry off the mat when it doesn't even really make it less slippery. I'd almost say that the more sweat you've got, the better this bad boy works.

A few tips, though:

1) Don't dry it with a dryer sheet since it makes it less absorbent and more slippery.

2) I let the towel hang off the front of my mat about a foot to allow about a foot of bare mat down where my feet are in downward dog. Since my feet don't typically get sweaty enough to slip, I find I have a better grip that way.

3) When starting a Yoga set, it helps to get your hands wet to start since the towel seems to be slipperier than a mat when dry.

I later bought the small towel that Yogitoes also makes which I now use even more often since it can just be placed near the top of your mat where your hands go. But, I like either depending on how hot the session gets.

I agree wholeheartedly with the other reviewers who use it in Bikram Yoga classes. The Yogitoes Big Skidless Yoga Towel is second to none in this capacity....

I received this as a Christmas present from my mother and was excited at first. I liked the idea of having multiple grips, but I find that the increased grip possibilities come at the sacrifice of stability. I'm an intermediate yoga practitioner and use blocks primarily for some of the trickier balance poses where I really want to open up. The give in this block's construction introduces a different type of wobble that I don't particularly care for.

This might be good for the absolute beginner, but for me it just doesn't provide the level of stability I'm looking for....

These are extremely helpful in doing various yoga positions that may be hard to achieve for the beginner, but also for those finding it a challenge to keep your balance. When just beginning to stretch your muscles it is often hard or simply not possible to rest a hand on the mat in order to balance, this will aid those with that need. As time goes on you will likely incorporate these blocks into various poses as part of your practice. They are sturdy and the center hole does make it easier to grip....
