I originally bought this mat to perform some light pilates exercises (part of the usual "New Year's Resolution" purchases one makes every year!), but after all this time of owning this mat, I am finding out that it has made my life so much easier.
I've had a big back/sciatic nerve problem for the majority of the past year, and this mat has saved me many additional aches and pains in my wrists/knees by protecting me from my thin rug and my hardwood floor. My physical therapy stretches are ten times more comfortable because of this mat, and I love that even in my cluttered/cramped apartment, I can find a corner to fold it up and tuck it away without it getting in the way.
The pilates routine may have stopped for the time being, but I'm still doing physical therapy stretches and am super happy about having this mat. After about a year of owning this and using it many times (even with heavy objects and with impact on the same areas), it looks brand new and hasn't shown any wear in the foam or the covering. I've no doubt that unless I take a sharp object to this thing and slash it myself, this mat will last many more years....
