I've been practicing yoga (ashtanga) for a year and a half with one of these mats. This is what I think of them:

PROS:

-Durability: It just doesn't wear out. If you are worried about the environment, this one is great because it will be one for a lifetime. And Manduka claims that is made out of materials that doesn't harm the planet.

-Size: Its larger than what I need (I'm 5ft 3 in)--but that doesn't bother me or changes my practice in any way.

-Thickness: Is enough that my knees never feel uncomfortable (this used to be a problem with other mats I have tried). I do all the poses on it and never feel that it needs more cushion.

-Stability: Once you put it on the floor, it will never roll, stick to your feet/hands or change its shape in any form even if you're jumping. When new it is slippery, but just wash it with soap. Washing it will also help to eliminate the "rubbery" odor it has. If the smell doesn't completely disappear--believe me, it will eventually fade away (this was a complaint I read when I bought my Mat).

CONS:

-It's heavy. But after using it, you'll find that this is a small price to pay for all of the above. Though heavy, I still walk to my classes with it (30 min in total). The Manduka bag for this mat is good to carry it around. It's large enough--so even if your mat is not tightly rolled, it will fit inside. And it has an additional large pocket.

-Price: Its well above the average for a mat. But if it's the only mat you'll ever have, its a great investment....

I never write reviews, except if something is exceptionally horrid or exponentially amazing. These towels are the BEST for hot yoga. Extra long, super soft, and DON'T BUDGE for anything. There was no need to readjust throughout the whole 90 minute Bikram session. I know it's just a towel, but my practice benefits from not being distracted by crumpled terry cloth under my feet. Loves 'em and a most-definite recommend....

I practice Bikram yoga 3-6 times a week. I have a yogi-toes towel and a similar knock-off brand and I agree with other reviewers who like a towel that stays in place (thanks to the little rubber nubs). I bought these towels because you get TWO for the price of one yogi-toes. They fit over my mat perfectly - actually about an inch longer than my mat. If you use them straight out of the packaging they don't lay flat because of the folds but now that I've washed them, they lay perfectly flat and I don't seem to have any trouble with them moving around or bunching up. (Perhaps those people who have this problem are moving around too much on the mat to begin with.) The best part about these towels is that they are WAY more absorbent than the yogi-toes and they dry much faster as well. I'm glad I bought these and not another expensive yogi-toes!...

I ordered this towel primarily for its value, as I practice Bikram yoga (almost) daily and needed several to use between washings. I'm very pleased with its quality and the cool blue color. It is extremely soft microfiber, which is incredibly absorbent during a hot practice. Its 2' x 6' size fits perfectly over my yoga mat (Yoga Mats by Mivizu Eco Friendly Anti Slip Yoga Mat With Extra Thickness Skidless Mat for Pilates, Exercises, Aerobics, Yoga 72" x 24" x 1/4" 7 Color Options). It moves minimally during postures, but certainly not enough to be distracting, and certainly not enough to warrant spending double the price on other pricey brands. Don't use fabric softener when washing, as it will diminish the absorbent quality....

Love this ball. Used it for a stage prop (painted the surface to look like the globe) and now use it for exercising. It's tough and has it's own air pump.

It is a little large for my petite self---I probably would have ordered a smaller size if I had a sense of centimeters....

I have owned this mat for exactly one year this week and it has been a good, solid mat. The other reviewer seems to have had some problem with grip, but once you wash the mat and let it dry as you should do with any new sticky mat it's perfect. (It's also not a bad idea to wash your mat every once in awhile.) I like this particular mat because it is slightly longer than a standard mat, it's somewhat eco-friendly, and it isn't as heavy as a rubber mat.

The only reason I'm not giving this mat 5 stars is that it won't last much more than a year for me. However, I do practice 3 times a week so the fact that the mat has worn down in some places doesn't come as a surprise.

I have used Hugger Mugger mats ever since I started practicing yoga over 10 years ago. They make a quality product....

I purchased this mat thinking that it was better because it was "green" and didn't use all of the chemicals that the other mats typically do. But there is NO GRIP to this mat whatsoever. I paid extra money and wound up with something that makes you slide all over. I wasn't doing yoga, I was playing slip and slide. Save your money and buy another mat....
