I have just started to do Yoga, and in my opinion this mat is wonderful for that. Firstly, I am very tall, and so it is nice to actually find a mat that I can use. During yoga class I never really go off of my mat because of all of the extra room. This mat is thick. I love that. Many other people in my yoga classes use 2 to 3 mats on top of each other to have a soft surface, but this mat is thick and does the trick. I have ever had to double up or triple up my mat. It doesn't just feel good, but it looks good. I have the half yellow, half blue mat, and it is just so happy and beautiful. You can't help but to be happy doing yoga on it!...

I've only used this mat a handful of times, so I can't speak about the longevity, but I love the feel of it. It is decently cushion-y, and I don't slip too much. I didn't even wash it before first use because I was in a hurry and it worked well enough without a towel. No mat I have ever tried is slip poof, but this one works as well or better than most for me. It is a great value for the price (I paid in the $30-something range), and while blue/banana was not my first choice, I actually find the color attractive and cheerful now. I've never used the top of the line $60-80 mats like Manduka and Jade Harmony, but compared to the average cheap mat this is heaven for me. My studio had some of these so I knew what I was getting into when I bought it. I strongly recommend trying a bunch of mats at studios if you can, everyone has a different idea of what makes a good mat, so I think it is easier to buy one you have tried out and know suits your tastes than it is to guess.

Namaste!...

Disclaimer: I haven't purchased or used this mat. Rather, I'm reviewing the marketing strategy and I want to give the marketers of this mat some feedback: First of all, the mat sounds fine and I HUGELY appreciate that someone has finally mentioned something about the environmental aspects of how yoga mats are made. Thank you.Unfortunately, the competitive and belittling "I'm better than others" tone of the Product Description shows that whomever is marketing this product has absolutely no true understanding of the primary principles of yoga. Environmentally sound or not, how can I have a peaceful and enlightened yoga practice on a mat made and marketed with such intentions? This may seem inconsequential to some, but it matters to me and I think it may matter to many others as well. Namaste, prAna....

Exercise Mat, Green, Large 5/8" x 40" x 80"

Non-slip surface

Warm and comfortable to touch

Hygienic, easy to clean

5/8-inch padding for increased cushioning and durability

40 inches wide by 80 inches long

The large exercise mat gives you more space than a regular sized mat. With it's 5/8" thick foam and extra long and wide dimension it is very comfortable & shock absorbent and protects from cold floors.

Please note actual shipping weight is lower, but this is an oversize item and therefore it gets charged by 12lbs

This review is from: Exercise Mat, Green, Large 5/8\" x 40\" x 80\"

The extra large size is great. The mats are soft and slip free, but the surface is not meant for use with shoes. The surface works great for yoga, sit-ups, push-ups, etcetera. But if you need to wear shoes be careful because it will permanently wear away at the surface and leave ruts. Because of the product not living up to its durability claim I am only giving it 3 out of 5 stars. I was hoping to use this item for bootcamp training exercises like P90X, to keep my feet and legs from taking such a beating on my concrete flooring, but anything that requires shoes puts to much wear on these mats....

This review is from: Exercise Mat, Green, Large 5/8\" x 40\" x 80\"

This mat is big enough for aerobics (where you step around alot); dense foam & not too thick so you don't sink down too much, yet nice on the feet; doesn't move around hardly at all on the carpet (which I'm saving wear-n-tear on by using an exercise mat in the first place). Love it!...

This review is from: Exercise Mat, Green, Large 5/8\" x 40\" x 80\"

and comfortable. If you are tired of the insufficient space your normal mat gives you, this is a worthwhile investment. It is much thicker and gives you almost twice as much width as a normal mat. You may want to invest in some kind of strap though to keep it rolled up when not in use....

Altus Athletic Rip Slide

Sliding push-up bar

Bar has precision ball bearings

Total upper body workout

Develops Strength

Develops power and core.

Be fit and get ripped with this Rip Slide from Altus Athletic which develops your strength, power and core.

This review is from: Altus Athletic Rip Slide

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

I'm always on the lookout for a way to do push-ups that will be somewhat easier on my wrists, so I was excited to try this. However, upon opening the package, one of the first sentences I read said that this should not be used by anyone who is shorter than 5 ft. 9. Well, that rules out me (and most women). I didn't see any reference to the height requirement in the Amazon page information on this product.

Even if I had been tall enough, though, the other concern I had is the safety of using this device. The grips on which you put your hands move too easily. I can see me potentially damaging my shoulder or rotater cuff on this.

I'll just stick to regular push-ups....

This review is from: Altus Athletic Rip Slide

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

Looking at the picture of the Rip Slide, I thought it would be a good way to pump up the push ups. However, as soon as I opened the box, a notice slid out stating that the bar was only for use by those 5'9" and taller. I'm shorter than that, but put the bar together anyway so I could try it out.

I wasn't really sure how to use it. THe grips slid back and forth. Should I reposition my grip during the workout? That didn't seem safe, so I took a closer look. Nothing in any of the instructions as to how to use the device. But I noticed some blue o-rings. I adjusted the o-rings against the grips so that they would stay in place. But now it felt like my wrists were not aligned properly.

Thinking it might be me, I convinced a tall friend to try it out. Tall friend was not impressed either.

I have a pair of push up bars similar to GoFit Push-Up Bars

that do a great job and work for anyone of any height.

Update: I had a tall, gym rat friend check this out. Here's what he had to say: The grips move while you do the push ups - sliding outward as you down and inward as you go up. You have to be strong enough to control the grip motion. It's a good way to build muscle but very easy to damage your shoulders with this work out....

This review is from: Altus Athletic Rip Slide

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)

This is basically a raised bar with hand-grips to use while doing push-ups. You can adjust the hand-grips to allow you to position your arms closer together or further apart, which will make you use your muscles differently. This is not a bad idea, but I couldn't help but think that a simple bench or any kind of raised surface would allow you to do the exact same thing (although admittedly the hand-grips are more comfortable than just resting your hands flat on a surface). Also, because the hand-grips are movable and you can't really "lock" them in place, there's a chance of them slipping while you're in the middle of a push-up, which could possibly cause all kinds of injuries if they suddenly slide away while you have all your body weight resting on them. Finally, as other reviewers have already pointed out, the height requirement for this device is 5'9 and up, which is not a problem for me personally, but it should be made more clear to prospective buyers than it is now. Because of all of this, I don't recommend this product....
