DRISHTI:
Drishti, or Intentional Focal Point, is a key component of the yoga practice. Several asanas require Drishti. Yogee's Inspiration series is designed with Drishti or an Intentional Focal Point to help you boost your visual focus which automatically reduces external distractions and results in a better performance.
To Concentrate: Pick a focal point in front of you where your eyes naturally fall, and soften your gaze so that you are looking through the point. Breathe.
USE & CARE:
A. Cleaning before first use:
Yoga mats may release a harmless odor when first unwrapped. Please unroll your mat & air out for 2-3 days prior to your first use. Clean with a damp cloth using a cup of warm water & mild diluted detergent.Gently scrub. Rinse & Dry.
B. Additional Cleaning Tips:
Mix 1 part water with 3 parts white vinegar. Add a couple drops of essential oil. Essential oils create a nice scent, and some, such as eucalyptus, lavender have antibacterial properties.

I do not do yoga, I will say at the outset. But I do mat work with weights and I do Pilates at home. So I like a nice thick mat to cushion my bones on the laminate floor.
This mat comes in nice colors; mine is a rich violet. It doesn't smell and it's thick enough to cushion even my large-ish frame (I'm not a teensy gal.)
It was nice to do bent rows using the mat. To do bent rows, you take up a lunge position and slowly raise and lower a dumbbell, elbow at your side. It was also nice for crunches and sit-up get-ups, where you raise a bar over your head and sit up from a supine position.
Needless to say, if you are doing sweaty exercise, you don't want to absorb phthalates through your skin, so this is nice to have a clean, phthalate free mat....

If anyone cares, or if these colors mean anything to you, the purple color is more of a grape-y kind of color, as opposed to royal purple (brighter blue toned purple).
It's your basic yoga mat. For some reason, I was intrigued by the logo, but actually I would have preferred to save $5 and get the Yogee mat that has no logo. For some reason, (this is hard to explain) I thought the logo was part of the mat, like it initially manufactured that way, and has a clear definition of colors. Instead, it looks like it was painted/printed on after the fact. From far away it looks nice, but up close, when I'm doing my downward dog, it's kind of messy and dirty looking (I think because the purple mat color shows through the white circle). I'm slightly disappointed.
Other than that, the mat is pretty decent. It's comfy to be on. And, as other reviewers stated, it comes with a carrying strap!...

My first yoga mat was a Living Yoga mat and it is much thinner than the Yogee Mat which I now love. This mat is thicker, longer and is a lovely vibrant color. I chose purple which is my favorite color. Once you get this mat you will notice how every yoga pose is now more comforting and less painful. The mat really cushions your knees well when doing cat pose and is kind to your hands and feet when doing downward dog pose. The first yoga DVD I tried with this mat is Crunch - Candlelight Yoga. I found that the mat really added to the experience and I felt even more relaxed after doing the workout than I had ever been before. Therefore I can really recommend the Yogee Mat and I think you will look forward to Yoga even more once you have one. Also, this comes with a carrying strap. You roll up the mat then fit on the elastic ring on each side. You can then carry this on your shoulder.
