I love this mat! It has the perfect amount of stickiness and padding, and it is light-weight enough to easily carry to classes. I agree with the other reviewer about the smell! Pee-eww!!!! It was SO strong that my boyfriend could smell it from another room and asked, "Eww, what is that smell??" I let it hang outside for a few day and that totally took care of the problem. Now, it is perfect....

This mat is sticky, and much lighter than some of the other high-end mats. Due to materials, it's friendlier and healthier than many of the cheap chemical laden mats out there. But due to tender feet and knees, I use a cheap toxic mat I had on hand underneath my Urban Tapas. The only downside is that it is smelly when it arrives; I found that smell went away quickly.

I was concerned about making this purchase because of the price and the reviews about the smell. I have to agree about the smell. It was bad. I had to air it out for weeks but wanted to keep it because of the nice feeling of the mat. It is a little heavy but portable. At this point I am glad I bought the mat. It can be a little slick when sweat gets on it but is better then most mats I have had in the past in that regard. I take this to class with me and use it at home. It still (months later) has a slight smell that only I can smell when doing forward bends etc when my nose is close to the mat. I do love the color and feeling of cold stone (very grounding for me) in my practice. Overall I recommend this mat to anyone with the space to allow it to air out!...
