I needed a thicker mat for my twice a week yoga-pilates class. I loved the purple color and velcro closures. And there was very little smell when I first opened it. I liked that it was longer as I'm fairly tall. It was very cushy. However, I had a hard time keeping my balance on it since it is thicker and I have excellent balance. I have to step off my mat for any balance poses. And after using it a couple of weeks, it's already showing signs of wear especially from downward dog. It looks like I've owned it for years instead of weeks. It is excellent for pilates no discomfort on my knees, sides or back. I'm trying to figure out if the pros outweigh the cons. The jury's still out......
