I purchased this mat about 6 months ago. I practice on it at least once a week. I have not had the 'wearing out' trouble that some others mentioned. Instead, when I roll it out it truly becomes my magic carpet. The thickness is so wonderful on your knees and other joints. I agree there is a natural rubber smell. This abates over time to a degree, and of course if you leave it wound up tightly it will preserve the smell longer. I also agree that the main problem with this mat is that it has a major static attraction to dust, hair, etc. that is on the floor. It hasn't been a major problem but it is something I notice with this mat more so than other mats....

I have been practicing yoga for 5.5 years and I bought this mat about a year ago as my second mat ever (the first one finally started falling apart). I was interested in the eco-friendly material and the reviews I read sounded promising. I so regret that purchase! I tried returning it, but the company would not take it back. I contacted the manufacturer directly and they too were unapologetic. My biggest peeve with this mat? It STINKS and has not stopped stinking like rubber since the day I got it. The company assured me the smell would go away - it has not. What is perhaps worse is that the smell soaks into my skin, and even after a shower, I can still smell it for a few hours. The mat has also started wearing out a lot faster than I expected. Another performance feature that I dislike is that the mat bunches up easily during practice, when I jump forward or quickly move in some way. It is soft and provides good cushion, but given the other shortages, it is hardly worth it. I gave it a year to grow on me. Impossible. I just ordered the Manduka BlackMat PRO. I can't wait for a smell-free practice. It's a good thing that the Jade Harmony mat is biodegradable because you know what is happening to mine. Very disappointing....

I have had my mat for a short time and I love it! I am a yoga instructor so not only do I use it for my own practice but I teach on it as well. I've never been overwhelmed by the rubber smell but then I run the shower over my mat at least once a week because it does get dirty & pick up dust from static. I only rinse it completely off w/water & toss it over the shower bar. It's perfectly fine. Bottom line is that it has improved my practice with the amount of traction it has. I LOVE MY MAT!!!...
