Wood floors + 5 yr old yoga mat = Bruises. I needed a mat that was "extra thick" because of the wood floors - so I chose this one. Not a good choice.

The foam is too soft, in other words, the "extra thick" squishes down. Not recommended if you need padding for your back, or if you have hard wood floors.

The mat is slippery. If you would like to challenge yourself when doing standing poses which require serious concentration...then here's the mat for you. Ha ha =) I am unable to use this for standing poses because my feet start sliding.

The sides of the mat are tearing, I don't know how...I'm not doing anything crazy with this, no shoes on it, doesn't leave the house?

This Danskin Yoga/Pilates foam mat is not made to last - not durable. I am disappointed in this product. I recommend spending your money on a better quality mat.

*Did a little research(yes,I should have done this prior to purchase) and CLOSED CELL FOAM MATS are where it's at! I'm off to buy a closed cell foam mat =) *...

This mat is not a very good quality mat. It doesn't even seem that it is thick. It feels worse than some of the regular mats I have had. I would definately not recommend it to anyone nor would I have bought it if I had tried it at a store....

The mat is good quality and the carrying strap is excellent. However, I have had this mat for about one month and attempted to use it on a daily basis for Iyengar yoga. It was far too slippery in the beginning to be of much use for many poses. Even after a month of use and washing it by hand and by washing machine it is still too slippery. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is doing many standing poses. I'm folding mine in quarters and using it for headstands only....
