I purchased this mat when I started Bikram Yoga and it worked fine in the carpeted studio. It is thin and is compact when rolled up. I did notice that it would "walk" itself a bit during the class ever so slowly and I would find myself adjusting it once or twice. When I grew tired of the same routine and wanted a change, I moved onto Sumits yoga which is also heated but is practiced on wooden floors. The mat is completely useless for that. I was sliding all over the place, the mat did not grip the floor at all. I had to purchase a second, standard sticky mat to use for wood floors. Overall I wouldn't recommend this mat....

I love this mat. A little funky smelling at first, but nice and sticky. It is thick enough so I feel no pain, but lightweight also. Eco-friendly too!...
