I actually bought this mat because I really liked the way it looked.
It turned out to be a great mat too.
It felt great on the floor.
I didn't slip so I am glad I purchased this initially based on looks.

I bought these for my girlfriend. She enjoys the great color choices and appearance of these mats. They function pretty well and are comfortable because they seem to be a little bit thicker than standard mats.
However the reason they are only getting 3 out of 5 stars is the smell. As soon as you open the box you are overcome with a strong chemical smell. It took my girlfriend washing them down with an alcohol/water mixture and then airing them outside for 2 days before they were bearable. They still have a faint smell but are usable now.
Overall they are good functioning and usable yoga mats, but don't expect to use the right out of the box unless you like that chemical smell!...

OMG this is the best mat I have ever used!
Firstly, I got it in a timely manner and it arrived well packaged. There was a slight smell when I unwrapped it, I will admit. But, this can be expected with most mats so no biggie there. I wiped it down with slightly soapy hot water (laundry detergent), rinsed with cool water, and let it hang dry on the shower rod for 24 hrs.
I have tried MANY different mats so while I am certainly not an authority, when I tell you that the thing worked like magic from the first use, I mean it. I even brought my rosin (Aurorae brand) just in case, but I did not slip ONCE. Not even when I started to perspire. I cannot say how it would work in hot yoga because I am not a hugely sweating type person, but for hatha syle I have no complaints. I was able to get deeper into poses than I ever have.
Oh, and it's pretty. I got the sunset one.
